Toronto-based dance artist Jennifer Dallas was born and raised in Calgary, Alta. A graduate from the professional training program at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, she had the pleasure of working with Serge Bennathan, Marc Bovin, Paul Andre Fortier, Peter Chin and Sasha Ivanochko, among others. Dallas twice had the privilege of studying at The Banff Centre for Performing Arts and has performed in Calgary with Springboard Dance on an experimental aerial dance project.
In the summer of 2005, Dallas received a scholarship from DanceWEB to attend ImPulseTanz in Vienna, Austria, where she worked with David Zambrano, Susanna Linke, Adidayo Laidi, and Joan Skinner. Upon her return to Toronto, Dallas created KemiCollective, a collective of dancers and musicians that works to develop personal languages in movement, music and text.
Dallas has twice had the honor of studying and performing in Lagos, Nigeria under the direction of Adedayo Liadi. Her work Sundays was performed at the Danse meets Dance festival in Lagos with other works performed at In a white room, Series 8:08, CrazyFish Collective’s show Swell and The Scream Literary Festival.
